WhatsApp has rolled out new capabilities aimed at making group calls easier to schedule and more engaging for participants.
Whether you’re planning a casual catch-up with family or coordinating a meeting with colleagues, scheduling in advance can now be done directly from the Calls tab. By tapping the + button and selecting Schedule Call, you can set a time, invite individuals or groups, and ensure everyone is ready ahead of time.
Once scheduled, calls appear in the Calls tab, where you can view details such as the participant list and access links to add the event to your personal calendar or share it with others. All invited participants will also receive a notification when the call is about to start, ensuring no one misses the conversation.
To improve participation, WhatsApp has introduced interactive features during group calls. Users can now raise their hand to indicate they’d like to speak or send a reaction to engage without interrupting.
Call links have also been enhanced. Organizers will now receive a notification whenever someone joins through the link, improving awareness and control over participation.
As always, WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption ensures that all personal calls remain private and secure, safeguarding conversations from unauthorized access.
These new features are designed to make virtual gatherings more efficient, enjoyable, and secure—whether for personal use or in a professional setting.
