Meta and Oakley Launch New Smart Glasses Designed for Performance and Style

After months of speculation, Meta has officially revealed its latest wearable tech: a new line of smart glasses developed in collaboration with Oakley. The launch marks a major step forward for Meta in the smart eyewear space, introducing upgraded hardware and a sport-focused design.

These new glasses, inspired by Oakley’s HSTN (pronounced “how-stuhn”) frame style, offer twice the battery life of the previous Meta Ray-Ban models and come equipped with a front-facing camera capable of recording in 3K resolution. Described by Meta as their “first product for both athletes and fans,” the glasses blend performance with everyday utility.

The limited-edition Oakley Meta HSTN Gold version will be priced at $499, available for preorder starting July 11th. The standard collection starts at $399 and will be released later this summer.

🔊 What the Glasses Can Do

The glasses are packed with features:

  • Listen to music
  • Take photos and record video
  • Make and receive phone calls
  • Use voice commands via Meta AI

With Meta’s built-in assistant, users can ask questions in real time—like checking the weather, requesting translations, or even activating the camera with a simple “Hey Meta, take a video.”

🔋 Battery and Charging

Meta says the smart glasses provide up to 8 hours of active use and 19 hours on standby. A 20-minute quick charge gives you up to 50% battery, and the included charging case can provide up to 48 hours of use on the go.

Available in six color and lens combinations, the glasses can also be outfitted with prescription lenses. Some versions include Oakley’s Prizm Lens technology, designed to enhance visibility in various lighting conditions—ideal for sports and outdoor use. Frame options include:
